Q235B Hot Rolled Strip Steel

 

• (1) Brand meaning: "Q" stands for yield strength, "235" means that the minimum yield strength of this steel is 235MPa, and "B" stands for quality grade, which requires it to pass the impact test at room temperature (20°C) and have a certain impact toughness.
• (2) Product definition: Q235B hot-rolled strip steel is made of Q235B steel. The heated steel billet is rolled through a rolling mill to reduce its thickness and increase its width, thereby obtaining a strip steel of the required specifications.
• (3) Product specifications: Common thickness is generally in the range of 1.5-12mm; common width is in the range of 300-1200mm; length can be determined according to actual production and demand, and coil weight usually ranges from a few tons to tens of tons.

 

 

 

(1) Mechanical properties: tensile strength is 370-500MPa, yield strength is 235MPa, and elongation is greater than 26%.

(2) Processing performance: It has good plasticity and is easy to be processed into structural parts of various shapes through rolling, bending, stamping and other processes; it has excellent welding performance and is not easy to produce defects such as cracks during welding, which can ensure the strength and performance of the welded joint.

(3) Corrosion resistance: It has certain corrosion resistance under normal environment and can resist the erosion of atmosphere, water, etc. to a certain extent, but in harsh corrosive environments, additional anti-corrosion treatment may be required.

 

 

(1) Billet preparation: Select standard Q235B billets, check their size, surface quality, etc. to ensure that they meet the requirements of hot rolling.

(2) Heating: Heat the billet to a suitable temperature range, generally around 1000-1200℃, so that the billet is in a good plastic state for subsequent rolling.

(3) Rolling: On the hot rolling mill, the billet is gradually rolled into strip steel of the required thickness and width through multiple rolling passes. The rolling speed, rolling force, and reduction are controlled to ensure the dimensional accuracy and performance of the strip steel.

(4) Cooling: The rolled strip steel is cooled to room temperature by natural cooling or forced cooling. The cooling speed should be controlled during the cooling process to avoid excessive internal stress and structural defects.

(5) Coiling: The cooled strip steel is coiled into a coil for transportation, storage, and subsequent processing.

 

 

(1) Good comprehensive performance: It has good strength, plasticity, toughness and welding performance, and can meet the requirements of various engineering applications.

(2) Cost advantage: Compared with some high-strength alloy steels or special steels, the production cost of Q235B hot-rolled strip is lower, the price is relatively cheap, and it has a high cost performance ratio.
