Straight Seam Welded Steel Pipe

Straight Seam Welded Steel Pipe
Straight seam welded steel pipe have many features, including:

● The steel pipe is a closed section; when the average thickness and cross-sectional area are the same, its exposed surface area is about 50% to 60% of the open section, which is beneficial to prevent corrosion and save coating materials.

● The geometric characteristics of the pipe section are good, the pipe wall is generally thin, the section material is distributed around the centroid, the section radius of gyration is large, and it has relatively good torsional rigidity. As a compression, compression bending and two-way bending member, its bearing capacity is relatively good, and the straightness and cross-sectional dimension accuracy of cold-formed pipes are better than those of hot-rolled open cross-sections.

● The appearance is more beautiful, especially the pipe truss composed of steel pipe members, without redundant node connections, and has a strong sense of modernity.

● In terms of anti-hydrodynamic characteristics, the cross-section of the round pipe is good, and the effect of wind and water flow is greatly reduced. Rectangular tube sections are similar to other open sections in this regard.

Pipeline Manufacturing Process

01/

Plate detection: Ultrasonic inspection shall be carried out first after entering the production line to manufacture steel plates for large-diameter submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes.

Milling: Use the edge milling machine to mill the two edges of the steel plate on both sides to achieve the required parallelism, width and groove shape of the plate edge.

03/

Pre bending: Pre bending the plate edge with the pre bending machine to make the plate edge meet the requirements.

04/

Pre welding: Seam weld the formed straight seam welded steel pipe and conduct continuous welding with gas shielded welding.

05/

Forming: First, on the forming machine, press half of the pre bent steel plate into J shape through multiple step stamping, then press the other half of the steel plate into C shape, and finally form the O shape of the opening.

06/

Internal welding: Weld on the inner side of the straight seam steel pipe, using longitudinal multi wire submerged arc welding, up to four wires.
