Steel is mainly composed of iron, carbon and other alloy elements. It is a metal material. The production process does not involve the use or addition of formaldehyde. Therefore, steel itself does not contain formaldehyde.
Sources of formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is mainly found in the following materials:
Artificial boards: such as plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, etc., these materials use formaldehyde-containing adhesives during the production process.
Furniture and cabinets: Many furniture and cabinets use artificial boards, which may release formaldehyde.
Composite flooring: Laminated composite flooring and solid wood composite flooring may also use formaldehyde-containing adhesives during the production process.
Glue and paint: Glue and paint used in the decoration process may contain formaldehyde.
Environmental protection of steel
Steel is an environmentally friendly building material because it does not contain formaldehyde and is recyclable. In construction and decoration, steel is often used for structural support, door and window frames, etc., and will not have a negative impact on indoor air quality.
